Goa Shocker: Tourist from Telangana Attacked with Sharp Weapon in Chapora, Local Businessman Arrested

Anjuna Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly attempting to mur der a tourist from Telangana in a shocking early-morning attack at Chapora, Bardez. According to police, the ac cused, Sahil Hasan Bapu, a local businessman, alleged ly struck 27-year-old Mothe Sairam — also a businessman from Balaji Nagar, Surya Peth, Telangana — on the head with a sharp weapon around 6:30 am near Avatara Bar and Res taurant. The attack, reported ly carried out with intent to kill, left the victim with severe bleeding injuries.

The victim’s friend, Mo hammed Noorudhe EN Mulla (24), a resident of Yelahanka, North Bangalore, lodged the complaint that led to the ar rest. Sairam was rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, where he is undergoing treatment. Author ities report that while his con dition is serious, it is stable. The case has been regis tered under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya San hita (BNS), with PSI Navneet Goltekar of Anjuna Police Sta tion leading the investigation. Police are currently probing the motive behind the vio lent assault. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
