Goa Signs MoU with TERI to Promote Sustainable Development and Eco-Tourism

The Department of Environment in Goa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), focusing on advancing sustainable development practices across the state. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the collaboration will primarily focus on coastal and marine resource management, as well as future initiatives related to the blue economy, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and agricultural livelihood resource management.

CM Sawant highlighted that the MoU aims to ensure the promotion of sustainable eco-tourism activities in Goa, aligning with the state's efforts to preserve its natural resources while boosting economic growth. He emphasized that the partnership with TERI will play a key role in enhancing Goa's environmental sustainability, with particular attention to preserving the state’s unique coastal ecosystems.

The MoU is expected to bring in valuable expertise from TERI to support Goa's long-term goals of environmental conservation, strengthening the state's commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
