Tawadkar Demands Probe After Pakistan Flags Found Painted in Canacona

In a disturbing incident that has sparked public outrage, Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has lodged a police complaint against unidentified individuals after Pakistan flags were found painted on roads in Canacona.

The objectionable symbols were discovered at key public spots, including near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at the KTC bus stand and at the Chaudi–Pansulem junction. The images, believed to be painted overnight, have raised serious questions about intent and public security.

Tawadkar, who represents the Canacona constituency, condemned the act as “anti-national” and urged police to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the culprits to justice. “This is an attempt to provoke and disturb peace in our community. We will not tolerate such actions that insult the nation’s integrity,” he stated.

Local police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage and other leads to identify those responsible. Authorities have also begun the process of removing the offensive markings.
