Goa has cemented its place on India’s innovation map, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant declared at the Goa Open Innovation Challenge 2025 – Market Access Expo. Laying out an ambitious roadmap for the state’s digital and startup landscape, Sawant announced the establishment of a Global Capability Center (GCC) and a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning. These initiatives aim to build cutting-edge skills, promote collaboration between industry and academia, attract investment, and generate high-value employment opportunities—further boosting Goa’s IT and digital economy.

The government also plans to develop State Data Centers that will offer secure, scalable infrastructure to support e-governance, GIS mapping, and the efficient delivery of key public services. Also, an AI-powered chatbot is set to launch on the Goa Online portal, simplifying citizen access to over 270 government services and significantly improving public service efficiency and engagement.

Goa’s startup ecosystem is rapidly expanding, with 635 startups officially recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), including 281 certified under the state’s IT Promotion Cell. To date, financial assistance of ₹3.92 crore has been extended to 147 startups—underscoring the state’s strong commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
