Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that starting September 1, 2025, Goa will have a Single Window Clearance Facilitation Center to handle all permissions for film shoots, ensuring smooth approvals without Panchayat or Municipality hurdles. The announcement was made during the finale of the four-day Goa State Film Festival, which began on August 14. ESG Vice Chairman Delilah Lobo noted that the Film Facilitation Portal, launched during the festival, will also be operational from September 1. Veteran actress Varsha Urgaonkar was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event.
Sawant also assured filmmakers of the revival of the film finance scheme, which had faced technical delays. The revised scheme will offer INR 50 lakh for Category A films, INR 30 lakh for Category B, and INR 10 lakh for Category C projects, providing financial support to boost local film production.
