The Goa Tourism Department has issued a strict directive to all watersports operators providing yachting services, mandating compliance with the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982, and the Tourist Trade Rules, 1985.
In an official circular, the department warned that many operators have been found conducting yacht services without securing the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC), license, or official permissions. As a result, all such operators have been given 15 working days from the date of the notice to register their activities in accordance with the law.
“This move is aimed at bringing unregulated yachting operations under legal scrutiny and ensuring tourist safety,” a Tourism Department official said. “Failure to comply will lead to strict action, including the suspension of operations and legal penalties.”
The department emphasized that the rule enforcement is part of a broader effort to ensure accountability and maintain standards in Goa’s booming watersports and maritime tourism sector.
Tourism stakeholders have been advised to treat the directive with urgency and cooperate fully to avoid punitive measures.
