Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte held a strategic meeting with Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to advocate for the development of a "concert economy" and enhanced tourism infrastructure in the state.
Khaunte highlighted the need to align major events with Goa’s tourism seasons to maximize local economic benefits. The discussion focused on creating world-class iconic tourism destinations and integrating cultural and entertainment events into the state’s tourism roadmap.
The proposal aims to position Goa as a year-round global tourism hotspot, moving beyond beach tourism by tapping into music festivals, heritage trails, and experiential travel. Khaunte emphasized the potential for these initiatives to generate employment and promote sustainable economic growth.
