The consumer rights group GOACAN has announced plans to file a formal complaint citing deficiency of service under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, against the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL).
The complaint follows repeated grievances about poor conditions on KTCL’s shuttle buses, most recently highlighted by the state of the Margao-to-Panjim shuttle service on June 30. According to GOACAN, at 10:17 a.m. that day, Shuttle Bus GA-03-X 0597 was found in unacceptable condition, reflecting what the organization described as a lack of basic care for passengers.
In addition to filing the complaint with the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, GOACAN said it will escalate the issue to the South Goa District Collector and the Director of Transport to ensure appropriate action is taken against the state-run corporation.
“This is the reality for shuttle passengers,” GOACAN stated, sharing photographs and testimonies from commuters who reported poor maintenance and inadequate facilities.
The group emphasized that public transport users deserve reliable and safe services, and urged authorities to address the lapses promptly.
KTCL has yet to issue a response on the matter.
