Over 60 Goans residing in the UK gathered at Westminster Palace on Tuesday to celebrate the significant contributions of the Goan community to British society. The event, titled Recognition of the UK Goan Diaspora, was organized by Swindon Labour MPs Heidi Alexander and Will Stone, alongside Swindon’s first Goan mayor, Imtiaz Shaikh, and his wife, councillor Adorabelle Shaikh.

The event brought together Goans from Swindon, Wembley, Southall, Hayes, and various parts of London, acknowledging their achievements in diverse sectors such as the armed forces, healthcare, engineering, law enforcement, business, the corporate sector, and hospitality. The recognition highlighted the community's deep-rooted involvement and positive impact across multiple fields in the UK.

The gathering at Westminster Palace underscored the enduring legacy and contributions of the Goan diaspora, celebrating their role in shaping British society.
