Goa’s Shikha Pathak has made history by becoming Asia’s first female Ju-Jitsu International Technical Official, marking a significant milestone for martial arts in the region. She will also serve as India’s sole representative at the prestigious 12th World Games, which will take place in Chengdu, China from August 7 to 17.

Pathak’s appointment is being hailed as a groundbreaking achievement, highlighting her exceptional expertise and the growing prominence of Indian officials in international combat sports. Her role as an International Technical Official will see her overseeing matches, ensuring adherence to global standards, and contributing to the fair conduct of competitions at one of the sport’s most important global stages.

Her selection underscores both her personal dedication and India’s rising profile in Ju-Jitsu, which has traditionally seen limited female representation in officiating roles at the highest level.
