Goa’s Vaibhav Marathe made the state proud by securing 5th place at the prestigious Asia Pacific Motor Racing Championship 2025. Fellow Goan racers Aditya Naik and Omkar Naik also delivered commendable performances, further showcasing the rising talent in the state’s motorsport scene.
Applauding their achievements, Goa’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Govind Gaude, praised the racers and emphasized the growing potential of motorsports in the state. Highlighting Marathe’s top-5 finish as a significant milestone, the minister announced the government’s plan to develop a dedicated motorsport track in Goa.
“The government is committed to nurturing motorsport talent and transforming Goa into a hub for motorsport tourism,” Gaude said, adding that full institutional support will be provided to young athletes pursuing careers in the sport.
The proposed facility is expected to provide local racers with the infrastructure needed to train at international standards and attract events that could further boost tourism and economic development in the region.
