According to information, an unidentified man trespassed into a private property in the village and targeted a woman present there. The accused allegedly snatched her gold chain weighing around 20 grams and valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh before fleeing from the spot.
The shocking incident has raised concerns as it was not a typical street snatching but occurred within the premises of a residence, making it all the more alarming for locals. The woman, who was caught unawares, reported the theft to the police immediately after the chain was taken.
Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case and are probing the circumstances of the crime. Officers are making inquiries in the area to trace the accused, while efforts are underway to verify whether the suspect was spotted by bystanders or captured on CCTV cameras in the vicinity.
