Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Friday assured that the state government is fully committed to resolving the brutal attack on social activist Rama Kankonkar. Speaking amid growing public concern and widespread protests across Panaji and other parts of the state, the Governor emphasized that authorities are taking all necessary steps to maintain law and order.

“The government is working to solve this case and will definitely resolve it. At the same time, it will ensure that the protests do not affect tourism and the daily lives of Goans,” he said, addressing the mounting unrest. Demonstrations erupted after the attack on Kankonkar, highlighting concerns over public safety and accountability for violent incidents targeting activists.

Governor Raju stressed that while the protests are an expression of public anger, they must not disrupt the functioning of the state or affect tourism, which is a key economic driver in Goa. Authorities are coordinating with local law enforcement to ensure peaceful demonstrations while pursuing swift action against the perpetrators.

The incident has drawn widespread attention, with citizens and political leaders calling for justice and stricter enforcement of law and order. Governor Raju’s statement aims to reassure the public that the government is actively investigating the case and will hold those responsible accountable, while also balancing the need to maintain normalcy in daily life.

The administration continues to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing both the protection of activists and the smooth functioning of tourism and public services, ensuring that Goa remains safe and secure for its residents and visitors alike.
