Guardian Angel Sports Club from Curchorem earned their spot in the finals of the first Antonio Colaco Memorial Football Tournament with a strong 3-1 win against the hosts, Mandopa Sports Club, in the semifinal at Rosary Church Ground, Navelim.
The game kicked off with Guardian Angel taking control early. In the 9th minute, Mildroy Menezes opened the scoring with a precise finish. Eleven minutes later, Jaison Dias extended the lead to 2-0, giving Guardian Angel a comfortable advantage at halftime. Ronaldo Pereira came close to adding another goal but his powerful attempt narrowly missed.
In the second half, Mandopa Sports Club fought back aggressively. Their efforts paid off in the 31st minute when they earned a penalty, which Ronaldo Pereira calmly converted to bring the score to 2-1, raising hopes for a comeback.
However, Guardian Angel’s defense held firm under pressure. In the 43rd minute, Mildroy Menezes scored again, finishing off a perfect pass from Cyril Dias to seal the 3-1 victory and complete his brace.
For his impressive performance, Mildroy Menezes was named Man of the Match and received the award from GFA referee Caitano Pereira.
