Guv, CM extend Id-E-Milad greetings

PANJIM: Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have greeted the people of Goa on the auspicious occasion of Id-e-Milad, the birthday of Prophet Mohammad.

Extending his greetings and best wishes to the Muslim brothers and sisters, the Governor said, “Prophet Mohammad was a symbol of virtue, truthfulness and selfless service, who preached the noble ideas of peace, brotherhood and compassion. These ideals have profound significance and relevance in our lives. Today, humanity should practice the eternal message of Prophet Mohammed in order to lead a happy and wholesome life.”

The Governor added, “On this joyous occasion of Id-e-Milad or Milad-un-Nabi, let us all dedicate ourselves to promote the noble ideas preached by Prophet Mohammed and work for the prosperity of the society and promotion of peace and harmony in the country.”

The Governor hoped that the auspicious occasion ushers in greater peace and happiness to one and all.

In his message, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “This is an occasion for the people to dedicate themselves to the noble cause of humanity and harmony.”

He expressed hope that the festival will give new inspiration to enhance the progress in the State.

“The occasion provides us an opportunity to pray and seek blessings for the entire humanity. Eid Mubarak,” Sawant concluded.
