PANJIM: The Opposition Congress held a protest on Thursday against Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu and other BJP leaders over their statement on Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress leaders took out a protest morcha from Congress office in the city to the State headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party and shouted slogans against the BJP and its leadership.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar said, “Rahul Gandhi attempted to bring entire nation together by walking almost 4,000 km from one corner of the country to another. BJP is trying to infuse venom among the people.”
Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao said, “Calling Rahul Gandhi a terrorist is a very serious issue because his grandmother Indira Gandhi was martyred by bullets. His father was a victim of a suicide bomber. In the memory of Rajiv Gandhi, Anti-Terrorism Day is observed. But today the Bhrasht Jumla Party through its spokespersons is spreading venom. We condemn this.”
The Congress workers later burnt the effigy of the BJP leaders, who made statement against Rahul Gandhi.
