Hazardous Potholes Plague Zambaulim-Colomba Stretch, Contractor Missing

The Zambaulim to Colomba Road is currently in a dangerous and deteriorated condition, posing significant risks to both pedestrians and motorists. The primary cause of this situation is the recent digging for the laying of underground electricity cables. After the cabling work was completed, the contractor failed to carry out proper repairs, leaving behind large potholes and uneven surfaces. This negligence has turned the road into a hazard, especially during the monsoon season when water accumulates in the potholes, further increasing the risk of accidents.

Local residents and commuters have voiced their frustration, noting that the contractor responsible for the work has disappeared without addressing the damage caused. Moreover, there has been no response from the concerned authorities, despite repeated complaints and appeals for urgent repairs. The lack of action has intensified public anger, as the road remains a daily threat to safety.

Adding to the community’s dismay, local MLA Subhash Phal Desai has shown no interest in resolving the issue. Residents accuse the MLA and other officials of ignoring their plight, despite the road being a vital link for the area. The absence of political will and administrative intervention has left the community feeling abandoned.
