PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has asked the Under Secretary (Finance) and the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to file their replies within a week, to a writ petition filed by the Mumbai Wines Traders Private Limited, seeking to operate a liquor shop at the Mopa International Airport.

During the hearing, additional government advocate Siddharth Samant sought time to file affidavit-in-reply on behalf of both the respondents.

The Airports Authority of India had selected the Mumbai Wines Traders Private Limited in the auction process to operate the liquor shop in the airport terminal building.

The Court considered the fact that the petitioner was unable to start his business despite being selected as a successful bidder and that the AAI had not raised any objection to the operation of the liquor shop and posted the writ petition for admission on November 11.
