Health Minister Warns of Strict Action Against GMC Doctors Engaged in Private Practice During Duty Hours
Published on

Goa’s Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has issued a strong warning against Goa Medical College (GMC) doctors found engaging in unauthorized private practice during official duty hours, stating that strict disciplinary action will be taken against violators.

Speaking in the Goa Legislative Assembly, Rane acknowledged that the majority of GMC doctors work diligently under difficult conditions. However, he emphasized that a few individuals tarnish the institution’s reputation by treating private patients during government duty hours — a clear violation of service rules.

“The government will not tolerate such misconduct. Anyone found flouting these norms will face serious consequences,” Rane asserted, highlighting the administration’s commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring accountability in public healthcare institutions.
