The High Court has granted bail to suspended Police Inspector Sunil Gudler and Constable Mohammed Hussein, both attached to the Konkan Railway Police Station, who were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with a bribery case.
The duo had been taken into custody for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from a beef trader. Following their arrest, both officers were placed under suspension pending the outcome of the investigation.
Sources from the ACB indicated that the arrests were made after a complaint was lodged and a trap was successfully laid to catch the accused red-handed. The case had stirred significant public interest due to the involvement of law enforcement officers in alleged corruption.
With the bail now granted, both officers will remain under scrutiny as the legal process continues. The ACB is expected to file a detailed chargesheet in the coming weeks.
