In the early hours of the morning, a high-speed self-accident involving a rent-a-cab rattled residents of Siolim-Marna. The vehicle, reportedly driven by a tourist, lost control and crashed into a compound wall, an electricity pole, and a telephone pole.

The impact of the collision was severe, causing one electricity pole to collapse entirely and leaving three others leaning precariously. The crash also damaged private property in the area.

Anjuna Police arrived on the scene promptly and have taken the tourist driver into custody. Preliminary reports suggest reckless driving as the likely cause of the accident.

The incident has sparked concern among local residents, who are now demanding increased night patrolling and stricter enforcement against rash driving, especially by tourists using rent-a-vehicles. Authorities have confirmed that further investigation is underway.
