The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for North and South Goa, predicting thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds on May 9 and 10, 2025. According to the alert, wind speeds are expected to reach 30 to 40 km/h in isolated areas of both districts.
The IMD has advised citizens, particularly those in vulnerable and low-lying regions, to exercise caution during outdoor activities, secure loose items, and avoid sheltering under trees during lightning or high wind episodes.
