Goa reported 10 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, as several major Indian states recorded a sharp rise in infections, according to data released by the Ministry of Health.

Kerala continues to report the highest number of new cases, with 1,435 infections, followed by Maharashtra (506), Delhi (483), Gujarat (338), West Bengal (331), and Karnataka (253). Other states also witnessing noticeable increases include Tamil Nadu (189), Uttar Pradesh (157), and Rajasthan (69).

Health authorities are closely monitoring the situation amid concerns of a potential new wave. While Goa’s numbers remain relatively low, the steady increase across states has prompted calls for renewed vigilance, particularly in urban centers and vulnerable populations.

Officials have advised people to follow basic COVID-19 protocols, including masking in crowded places, frequent handwashing, and staying home when symptomatic. Vaccination and booster coverage are also being reinforced across states to help manage the spread.

The Health Ministry is expected to issue updated guidelines if the upward trend continues.
