Loads of garbage has been dumped near the crematrioum in Ramnagar at Betim poses problems to locals resding in the area. With the rains, the stink from the garbage makes passing by the site unbearable. The area is clustered with residents around besides houses innumerbale migrants in the zopadpatti next door. As the panchayat fails to collect the garbage on a timely basis, the mound keeps getting bigger and one day may turn into a Sonsoddo.

Locals fear that this could lead to water borne diseases like, dengue, cholera, typhoid, malaria as the area has become a fertile breeding ground for mosquitoes. For several years, this dumping site has caused problems to people living in the area and travellers along the route. The route also becomes a barrier for travellers and pedestrians as stray animals scatter the garbage all around in the vicinity. Locals too keep throwing garbage here which then spills over on the road. Those responsible for the mess should realise that there a is crematorium here. The panchayat too should collect the garbage on time and respect the sentiments of the people by cleaning the area on timely basis. If the civic body collects garbage tax from residents then they are duty bound to

clear the mess and give a pollution free environment to the public.
