Kala Rakhonn Mandd demands release of white paper on Kala Academy’s renovation work

PANJIM: The Kala Rakhonn Mandd on Tuesday reiterated its demand for release of a white paper on the completed work saying it is essential for stakeholder confidence and the graceful resumption of activities at Kala Academy.

In a letter submitted to the Chairman, Task Force Committee on Kala Academy, the Kala Rakhonn Mandd has also demanded information regarding status of the Kala Academy structure before repairs, including the report and authorisation, documentation of maintenance carried out in the five years prior to repairs, including fees and decisions, identification and report of the panel or individual responsible for identifying repair work, details of any technical committee scrutinising the renovation report, minutes of the Kala Academy Executive Committee meeting where repair decisions were made and channels and documents used to convey the decision of the government.

The Mandd has also demanded evidence of tender processes and contracts awarded for the work, list of companies that submitted quotations for the repairs, the company awarded the repair work and the basis for selection, clarification on who issued the work order, reports from experts in cultural architecture prior to repairs, names and qualifications of personnel supervising the repairs, introduction of any new systems during the repairs, status of the contractor for the open air auditorium after the slab collapse and details of who awarded the tender for repairs.
