Kenyan National Arrested in Mapusa for Residing in Goa Without Valid Visa

The Mapusa Police have arrested a 39-year-old Kenyan national for residing in Goa without valid immigration documents, in violation of Indian visa and passport regulations.

The accused, identified as Teresia Wairimu Muturi, holding Kenyan Passport No. A2496803, was found illegally staying at Bhatiwado, Parra in Bardez. A case has been registered under Crime No. 64/2025 for offences under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and Section 6(a) of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950.

The arrest was made following a complaint by PSI Bablo Parab of the Mapusa Police Station, who led the initial inquiry into the matter. According to police sources, Ms. Muturi had no valid visa or authorization from Indian authorities, and her stay in the country was deemed illegal.

The investigation is currently underway under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Shri Ashish Shirodkar and PI Mapusa Shri Nikhil Palekar, with overall oversight by SP North Goa, Shri Akshat Kaushal, IPS.

Authorities have not ruled out further legal action or deportation proceedings, pending the outcome of the investigation.
