
The Konkan Railway has intensified its ticket-checking drives, conducting 3,765 inspections in FY 2025–26 and detecting 40,602 unauthorized travellers. Through these checks, officials collected fines amounting to ₹2.37 crore.
With the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which traditionally sees a surge in passenger traffic on Konkan Railway routes, the corporation has appealed to all travellers to ensure they hold valid tickets before boarding. Officials emphasized that travelling without a valid ticket not only attracts penalties but also causes inconvenience to genuine passengers.
The Konkan Railway continues to maintain strict vigilance to curb ticketless travel and ensure smooth operations during peak festive seasons.
