A massive pothole near the KTC bus stand has become the latest — and perhaps most jarring — addition to Panjim’s monsoon landscape. The crater-sized cavity, large enough to spark jokes about alternate dimensions, has earned a sarcastic nickname from locals: “KTC Valley View.”
Strategically (or unfortunately) placed right where vehicles converge, the pothole has been sending shocks — literal and figurative — through daily commuters. Residents say the crater has grown significantly in recent days, turning a routine ride into a suspension-testing challenge.
“Forget scenic viewpoints. This one greets you with a thud and a reality check,” quipped a daily traveler. The situation has become so notorious that some tourists have been humorously advised to wear helmets even while walking.
While authorities claim they are “monitoring the situation,” no visible repair work has been undertaken yet. In the meantime, locals are either navigating creative detours or bracing for impact every time they pass the now-infamous pothole.
With the monsoon season still in full swing, residents are urging the authorities to act swiftly before “KTC Valley View” becomes an even deeper landmark — or worse, a traffic hazard with serious consequences.
