Locals Slam Delay and Issues with Sewage Pipeline at Colmorod Junction

The long-awaited sewage pipeline, which was initially expected to be completed by March 31, has once again sunk at the Colmorod Junction, leading to growing frustration among local residents. Many locals have voiced their concerns, calling it a “big scam” and demanding accountability for the ongoing delays and technical issues.

Sarvesh Narvencar, a resident of Navelim, expressed his frustration, stating, "I have been writing letters to every authority since 2018. I was assured by the MD of Sewage that the pipeline would be completed by 2019. However, nearly six years have passed, and it still hasn't even started properly. Looking at the latest incident where the area around the pipeline has sunk, it seems it will take even more time to fix."

Narvencar further highlighted that the local area is barely 700 meters from the sewage treatment plant, yet the residents continue to suffer from this prolonged issue. “God knows what the situation is going to be like in areas farther from the plant,” he added.

Despite multiple promises and assurances over the years, there has been no significant progress or action taken by authorities to resolve the sewage connection issue in the region. "The condition is pathetic, with issues like this happening so close to the sewage treatment plant. There has been absolutely no action taken to address this," Narvencar emphasized, calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Locals are now demanding immediate action from the authorities to expedite the pipeline work and prevent further hardships. The delay continues to affect the daily lives of the residents who are left grappling with poor sanitation and unfulfilled promises from the authorities.
