Vasco Police have registered a case of criminal breach of trust against a man from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly fleeing Goa with a rented car and failing to return it.
The accused, identified as Prashant Singh, reportedly hired a vehicle from a local Rent-A-Car service in Vasco and later absconded with it, leaving no trace. According to police sources, despite repeated attempts by the car rental owner to contact Singh, there was no response, prompting the matter to be reported to law enforcement.
Based on the complaint, Vasco Police have booked Singh under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to criminal breach of trust. Efforts are currently underway to trace the accused and recover the vehicle.
Police have also warned other Rent-A-Car operators to verify client credentials thoroughly, especially during the ongoing tourist season.
