PONDA: Mahaj Porob has clinched the first prize (gold medal) at the National Abacus Competition 2024-25, held at Balewadi in Pune.
Representing Goa, Mahaj was the sole participant from the state in Level 2 of the competition, which saw participants from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
The event was graced by actor Swapnil Joshi and former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Padmashree Raghunath Mashelkar, who were the chief guests and presented the awards.
Mahaj is the son of Adv Vinayak Porob from Mapusa.
