Main Pipeline Bursts at Guirim, Thousands of Litres Wasted; Locals Blame JCB for Damage

A major water pipeline burst at Guirim on Tuesday led to the wastage of thousands of litres of water, sparking concerns over infrastructure negligence and water conservation.

The leakage has caused significant inconvenience for two-wheeler riders, with water gushing onto the road and creating slippery, unsafe conditions for motorists.

Local residents have alleged that a JCB machine, engaged in nearby work, accidentally damaged the pipeline, triggering the burst. “This is not the first time such damage has occurred due to careless excavation. Precious water is being wasted,” said a resident.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but efforts are reportedly underway to halt the leak and repair the pipeline. Meanwhile, citizens have called for greater coordination between civic agencies to prevent such avoidable damage in the future.
