Mandrem Police have arrested Chandrashekhar Chandrakant Patil, also known as Sanju (25), a resident of Pernem and originally from Bastora, for allegedly assaulting his mother in a brutal domestic violence incident.
According to police reports, the accused verbally abused his mother before physically assaulting her with slaps, kicks, and a koita (a sharp-edged weapon), targeting her head, neck, chest, and other vital body parts. The attack left the woman with grievous injuries.
The victim is currently undergoing medical treatment, while police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC for assault and domestic violence. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
Authorities have condemned the incident and urged citizens to report domestic abuse promptly to ensure swift action and protection for victims.
