In a significant move to enhance road safety in Mapusa, the local MLA led the inauguration of two convex traffic mirrors strategically installed at key locations across the town. These mirrors, generously donated by the Sarvajanik Sanskrutik Ganesh Mandal Trust and Shree Krishna Haushi Mandal, aim to improve visibility for motorists and pedestrians, helping to reduce the risk of accidents.
The launch event witnessed strong community support and was attended by several dignitaries, including Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Priya Mishal, BJP Mapusa Mandal President Yogesh Khedekar, and other senior officials. Their presence underscored the shared commitment of civic leaders and community organizations toward public safety.
Speaking at the event, the MLA expressed deep appreciation to both trusts for their generous contributions. He highlighted the importance of community involvement in addressing local issues and emphasized that road safety is a collective responsibility.
“Community participation is essential for creating safer roads. The donation of these convex mirrors by our local trusts is a commendable example of how collective action can make a real difference,” he said.
Convex traffic mirrors are highly effective in enhancing visibility at blind spots, sharp curves, and intersections by providing a broader field of view. Their installation is expected to assist drivers and pedestrians in better anticipating approaching vehicles, thus preventing collisions.
This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of both trusts to the welfare of Mapusa’s residents. Beyond the practical benefits, the event also served as a strong reminder of the impact of community-led efforts in addressing civic challenges.
The successful launch of these safety mirrors stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between citizens and local leadership, setting an encouraging example for similar initiatives across Goa.
