Mapusa is set to unveil ₹24 crore worth of infrastructure projects next week, marking a significant upgrade for many residents. Spearheaded by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), key developments include the construction of a six-floor commercial complex near Alankar Theatre in Angod and the renovation of the old Mapusa municipal building, which has now been transformed into a modern library. These projects aim to enhance the town’s commercial and civic infrastructure, signalling a major urban development boost for Mapusa.
In addition to these projects, Mapusa is also witnessing further infrastructure improvements, such as an ₹8 crore road-widening project from Gandhi Chowk to Bodgeshwar Temple, expanding the stretch into four lanes to ease traffic congestion. More road works worth ₹31 crore are set to begin soon, indicating a broader push to improve connectivity and urban amenities. These initiatives are part of a comprehensive effort by government agencies like GSIDC and GSUDA to modernise Mapusa’s infrastructure and support its growing population and economic activity.
