The Margao Town Police have intensified their efforts to curb traffic violations, taking swift action against multiple offenders during routine patrolling in the town’s jurisdiction. The operation was led by Police Inspector Shri Suraj Samant, who identified and penalized several serious breaches of traffic laws.
Two rent-a-bike vehicles were found illegally parked on a footpath and operating without valid fitness certificates. These vehicles were immediately attached as per legal procedure. Operating a rental vehicle without a fitness certificate is a violation under the Motor Vehicles Act, compromising both rider safety and public convenience.
In addition, two motorcycles with modified silencers and missing number plates were also seized. The modifications contribute to excessive noise pollution and are prohibited under Indian motor vehicle regulations. Such vehicles pose not only a nuisance but also a safety risk on public roads.
The Margao Town Police have initiated legal proceedings against all violators under the Motor Vehicles Act, reaffirming their commitment to traffic discipline and public safety.
Authorities have warned that further strict action will be taken against anyone found flouting traffic laws, particularly those involving unfit vehicles, noise pollution, or unauthorized modifications.
Residents are urged to adhere to all traffic regulations and report any violations to the nearest police station to help maintain a safe and orderly environment on Goa’s roads.
