Goa Power Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday said that Congress is free to approach the Chief Secretary to file an appeal in the High Court against his acquittal and that of others in the high-profile Power Scam case.
Speaking on the matter, Godinho remarked, “Congress has no other issue left, as we are doing a good job. If they wish, they can pursue an appeal, but we continue to focus on governance.”
The Power Scam case, which attracted significant media attention, saw Godinho and others acquitted by the courts, ending a long-drawn legal battle over alleged irregularities in the state’s power sector.
