A case of kidnapping has been registered by Vasco police following the alleged abduction of a 16-year-old boy from Mangor Hill. According to reports, the incident occurred last Saturday evening when the minor was reportedly taken away from the lawful guardianship of his mother by an unknown individual. The distressed mother promptly lodged a complaint with the police, stating that her son was missing and she suspected he had been kidnapped.
Acting on the complaint, Vasco police have registered an offence under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, which deals with kidnapping from lawful guardianship, as well as Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act, which provides for the protection of children’s rights and welfare. The authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident and are making efforts to trace the whereabouts of the missing teenager.
Police teams are reportedly examining CCTV footage from the area, questioning local residents, and following up on any leads that may help in locating the boy and identifying the suspect involved.
