
MLA Dr. Deviya Rane has assured that Thane Panchayat will be developed into a leading model in the region by providing quality infrastructure and tourism facilities. Speaking at a special program held at Valpoi for the citizens of the Thane Panchayat area, Dr. Rane announced that the Goa Tourism Development Corporation will soon lay the foundation stone for an eco-tourism cottage project at Surla. This project aims to generate local employment and promote the region’s food culture.
She also shared plans for constructing a sports ground to encourage local sports activities and provide opportunities for local players. Dr. Rane highlighted recent initiatives such as the development of facilities at the Pali waterfall, which now attracts many tourists during the monsoon season. A new road leading to the waterfall has improved access and boosted village development. She urged citizens to welcome visitors warmly to further strengthen tourism potential in the area.
Dr. Rane also announced the completion of the long-pending Pali–Belgaum road project, which significantly enhances connectivity in the region. She assured the public that many development schemes are ongoing and will benefit the people soon.
In his address, Thane Sarpanch Nilesh Parwar expressed gratitude to Dr. Rane, noting that her efforts have resolved long-standing issues like hot mix roads and drinking water facilities in all wards. The event at Valpoi Kadamba Hall was attended by several dignitaries, including ZP member Devyani Gavas, Deputy Sarpanch Sonia Gawakar, social activist Vinod Shinde, senior journalist Uday Sawant, Bhironda Sarpanch Uday Singh Rane, and panchayat members. They were felicitated with bouquets during the occasion. A large number of locals also participated in the function, showing strong community support for these development initiatives.
