Raising concerns in the Assembly, MLA Vijai Sardesai drew attention to the recent power tariff hike, while also highlighting the dangers posed by ongoing infrastructure works across Goa.
“The opposition raised the calling attention motion on the power tariff hike. At the same time, roads are being dug up everywhere for power infrastructure works, and that could lead to accidents. This is a complaint coming in from all over Goa, and I’ll have to raise it,” Sardesai stated.
While acknowledging the need for upgrading the state’s power infrastructure, he stressed that public safety and proper coordination must not be overlooked in the process.
His remarks underscore growing concerns among residents about both rising electricity costs and the lack of safety measures around open trenches and unfinished roadworks linked to utility upgrades.
