More road diversions in place at Porvorim, Sangolda

PANJIM: The North Goa District Magistrate has announced more road diversions for all types of vehicular traffic at Porvorim and Sangolda in view of construction of ongoing elevated corridor at Porvorim.

District Magistrate, North Goa District has ordered diversion or all types of vehicular traffic at CH: 508.610 to CH: 508.910 Central median at Sangolda junction to upto70 metres towards Panjim side (Sector 3) and CH: 511.920 to 512.340 from Mall De Goa to Chatrapati Shivaji Statue and thereafter on Vishawanath Lawande road (existing service road) (Sector 4) during the construction of National Highway–66 elevated corridor project (Phase 2) with effect from September 11, 2024 till the completion of the project.

At Sangolda junction to Dr Sidney Pinto’s residence (Sector 3), the vehicular traffic shall not be diverted and the traffic shall move on the existing NH-66 and six metres wide road shall be made available on either side, beyond the barricading.

The work of the elevated corridor shall be carried out from the starting point of central median at Sangolda Junction up to 70 metres towards Panjim side, where the road is sufficiently wide. At CH: 511.920 to 512.340 Mall de Goa to Delfino Junction (Sector 4), the vehicular traffic shall be diverted near Mall de Goa on the road leading to Chatrapati Shivaji Statue and thereafter on Vishwanath Lawande road (existing service road).

The District Magistrate has also notified the closure of old road approaching to Teachers Training College at alto Porvorim near IHM, Bardez and to divert the vehicular traffic from new road i.e. road constructed from Mall De Goa, Porvorim to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Alto-Porvorim.
