PANJIM: The State government has notified the amended Goa Motor Vehicle Rules with changes which include address verification, fees for choosing numbers and the retention of registration marks.

As per the notification, under the new Rule 5A additional documents such as registration certificates obtained for MSME, partnerships, LLPs, corporations, trusts and societies registration certificates etc will be accepted as address proof.

With regards to fees, the notification said fees for select numbers is to be determined by public e-auction.

For retention of registration marks when purchasing new vehicles, the retention fee has been set at 25 per cent of the specific fee for the chosen category.

The retention of the registration mark will be allowed, only if the registration mark is registered in the name of the applicant for a minimum period of 3 years, as on the date of application for retention.
