The Department of Agriculture in Goa has mandated all farmers to update their Aadhaar-linked bank account details in their Krishi cards to ensure direct transfer of subsidies through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB) System. This initiative aims to streamline the subsidy distribution process, eliminate delays, and reduce potential leakages.
To comply, farmers must ensure that their Aadhaar number is linked to their bank account and that these details are accurately reflected in the Krishi card records. Since the APB system uses Aadhaar as a unique identifier for routing payments, having the correct linkage is essential to receive benefits under various agricultural schemes such as fertilizer subsidies, irrigation grants, and equipment assistance.
Updating the details is a simple process. Farmers can visit their bank with their Aadhaar card and passbook to complete the linking, or use online banking platforms where available. Once linked, the updated information must be recorded in the Krishi card database—either through the Goa AgriStack Farmer Registration (GAFR) portal or at designated service centers.
Failure to update these details may result in farmers being ineligible for timely subsidy disbursals.
