No Discord in UTAA, Say Sankhali Tribals; Call Rift Claims Baseless

Tribal leaders from Sankhali firmly dismissed recent media reports suggesting internal conflict within the United Tribal Associations Alliance (UTAA) or any discord with the Goa government. In a unified statement on Friday, they declared that the alliance remains intact and fully committed to working with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

“We categorically deny any reports of disputes within UTAA or with the Chief Minister. Our alliance is united in its mission to uplift the tribal community,” a spokesperson stated, emphasizing shared goals and mutual trust with the state administration.

Condemning what they called “baseless allegations” and “misleading narratives,” the leaders asserted that such rumors are aimed at disrupting the positive collaboration between the UTAA and the government. “We will not allow attempts to malign either the alliance or the government. These falsehoods only seek to create confusion and derail ongoing progress,” they added.

Highlighting recent joint initiatives—such as improved education, healthcare, and infrastructure in tribal areas—the UTAA reaffirmed its support for the government’s inclusive development agenda. They urged the public and media to focus on verified information and constructive dialogue.

“Our priority remains the empowerment and development of tribal communities across Goa. We invite all stakeholders to support efforts that deliver real, lasting change,” the statement concluded.
