AAP MLA Cruz Silva and party leaders marched to the Panaji Police Station demanding an update on a complaint against Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monseratte and her associates for alleged abuse and manhandling during a late-night inspection of a mudslide site at Odxel Waddo. The delegation, initially denied entry, was later allowed inside. AAP Goa President Amit Palekar criticised police inaction, stating that no FIR had been registered despite the seriousness of the allegations, which include phone damage and physical intimidation.
According to the complaint, Monseratte’s aide, Sydney Barreto, allegedly snatched and smashed a mobile phone belonging to a local youth and pushed him, while Monseratte is accused of physically confronting AAP member Cecille Rodrigues. The police informed AAP leaders that an inquiry is underway and assured them that action would be taken within 24 hours.
