North Goa Authorities Set to Demolish 25 Illegal Structures in Tivim’s ‘Lala ki Basti’

In a significant move to crack down on unauthorized constructions, North Goa’s local administration is set to demolish 25 illegal structures in the area known as 'Lala ki Basti' in Auchit-Vaddo, Tivim, on Tuesday.

Officials have reportedly completed all necessary preparations for the large-scale demolition, including deploying law enforcement personnel to maintain order during the operation. The Public Works Department and the electricity board have also been roped in to ensure timely disconnection of water and power services to the illegal dwellings.

The action marks a decisive step by the authorities toward restoring legal compliance in the region, which has seen a surge in unauthorized settlements in recent years. The administration has emphasized that the demolition drive is being carried out in accordance with court orders and due process.

Local sources indicate that this could be the first in a series of similar crackdowns across other parts of North Goa, as the government aims to enforce zoning and construction norms more strictly.
