A major road accident at Siridao on Friday claimed one life and left four others injured after a speeding vehicle lost control, jumped the road divider, and crashed into oncoming traffic.
According to police sources, the vehicle veered into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with an incoming taxi and a two-wheeler. The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in the death of one person on the spot, while four others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the injured were immediately shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that rash driving and excessive speed led to the loss of control. Authorities are probing the incident further and are likely to take legal action against the driver responsible.
Traffic was briefly disrupted following the accident but has since been restored.
