With no signs of a joint walkout or coordinated stance during the recent Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, questions are mounting over the lack of unity among Goa’s seven Opposition MLAs ahead of the ongoing Assembly session.
Political analyst Vishal Pai Cacode has sharply criticized the disjointed approach, stating, “Have all seven Opposition MLAs even met once since the session was announced? If there's a strategy, it's invisible.”
Despite growing public expectation for a consolidated Opposition front, particularly on key issues like governance, inflation, and regional development, there has been no evidence of a united plan of action. The absence of a coordinated protest or a joint press briefing has further fueled speculation about deep divisions or lack of communication among the Opposition ranks.
“The Leader of the Opposition owes Goa an explanation,” Cacode said, warning that continued silence and disarray will only serve to “expose the so-called unity as a farce.”
With several critical bills and discussions on the agenda this session, the Opposition’s apparent lack of coordination could weaken its ability to hold the government accountable and represent public concerns effectively. Political observers and citizens alike are now closely watching whether the Opposition can regroup and assert a meaningful presence in the Assembly in the days ahead.
