MARGAO: The State government has announced plans to install two new lifts at the Osia Commercial Complex in Fatorda which houses various government offices. Law Minister Aleixo Sequeira revealed at the weekly public grievance meeting at the South Goa Collectorate that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed RTO officials to install a second lift in the Osia building.
"The TCP and SGPDA (departments) have agreed to install the first lift in the Osia commercial complex. The second lift will be installed by the RTO and the Transport department will bear the cost of the lift and its installation," Sequeira told the media after the meeting.
The installation aims to benefit citizens from Salcete and beyond who visit various government offices in the multi-storied building, including RTO, TCP, SGPDA, Sales and Commercial Taxes, and District Registrar.
In other developments, the South District Collector has officially notified the yellow-black two-wheeler pilot stand at the Margao KTC bus stand, resolving a long-pending issue.
The Environment Minister also confirmed that the ISL football match at Nehru stadium, Fatorda will proceed as scheduled on March 4.
During the meeting, delegations from several villages including that of Benaulim presented their local issues for resolution.
