Goa is all set to become a hub for budding badminton talent this June 2025, as it hosts two back-to-back All India Ranking Tournaments for sub-juniors. Organized by the Goa Badminton Association under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India and supported by the Sports Authority of Goa, these events promise top-tier action featuring the country’s most promising young shuttlers.

The first tournament, catering to the Under-15 and Under-17 age groups, will be held from June 14 to 22 at the Multipurpose Stadium in Peddem, Mapusa. With nearly 2,000 players competing in ten events — including Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles — this championship doubles as a selection trial for the prestigious National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati. Notable contenders include Pushkar Sai and Harshit Khatri (U-15 Boys), and Lakshya Rajesh and Rishika Nandi (U-17). The tournament boasts a ₹12 lakh prize pool. Wayne Fernandes serves as Organising Secretary, while Madhavan Narayanan leads as Chief Referee.

The second event — the Under-13 All India Ranking Tournament — will follow from June 23 to 28 at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Navelim, South Goa. Around 500 young athletes are expected to compete for a ₹6 lakh prize purse. Aniruddha Joshi will act as Referee, with Kapil Kamat as Organising Secretary.

These tournaments not only offer young players a major platform to make their mark but also give Goan sports enthusiasts a chance to witness the future stars of Indian badminton in action.
